This Week!

We're excited about this week as the 4th Annual Florida Gulf Coast Dulcimer Retreat takes place starting Thursday at the Homosassa Riverside Resort! It's not too late to register for four days of workshops with me, Guy George, Sharrie George and Richard Ash. Sponsored by Folkcraft Instruments, this is a laid-back retreat with plenty of time to relax, go kayaking, swimming with manatees and jam to your hearts' content. Lodging is near-capacity at the resort, but there are other places nearby to stay. See you in Old Florida soon!

Just TWO Weeks Away!

We're just two weeks away from our 4th Annual Florida Gulf Coast Dulcimer Retreat and we're excited for another great time at the Homosassa Riverside Resort!  The weather is forecast to be absolutely beautiful with days in the 70s and evenings in the 50s.

We have workshops in mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, ukulele, Native American flute, penny whistle and more!  Loaners are available for all instruments.  If you've ever wanted to try something new, our schedule is linear - so there are no competing classes which means no tough choices!

We'll have breakfast coffee and snacks, with fantastic meals available at the Riverside Crab House and a number of locations around the resort.  Buy fresh seafood from Shelly's, within walking distance, and bring it back to your room for world-famous grouper and blue crab dinners!

Manatee swim!

We're the only dulcimer event where you can swim with manatees! Swim tours depart several times daily from the marina.  You can also rent a kayak, go fishing, or just chill out by the water's edge and enjoy the peace and tranquility of Old Florida.

Hi everyone! We're just around the corner from our 4th Annual Florida Gulf Coast Dulcimer Retreat and are getting really excited about another great year! Be sure to check out the workshop descriptions and know that there is no pre-registration necessary - just take the classes you want; you're always welcome to change your mind! (We're kind of laid-back like that.) Don't forget to make your lodging reservations - all the info you need is on the right-hand side of this page. Sorry to say, we have had to cancel this year's Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue post-retreat dinner show. Many people just could not make it happen this year, so we'll skip one and come back with even more of an appreciation for it next year at our fifth annual event! Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue: Deadline NYE 2015!

Hi, everyone! Just a quick reminder about our traditional dinner at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. We're going to make the reservation for Monday, February 29th - probably the 6 pm show - and in order to be sure we're in, we'll need to collect the admission fees so we can pay up front. $67.99 includes all food and beverage plus a fantastic and entertaining show. Discounts are available for both locations if you mention the dulcimer retreat. Hoop-Dee-Doo!

Once again, a group of us will be indulging in our four-year strong tradition of enjoying the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground on the Monday following the retreat (2/29).  As usual, we'll need to make reservations long in advance to secure seating for this very popular and long-running show!  For those who don't know, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a delightful dinner show featuring a talented cast and a fantastic all-you-can-eat meal.  You don't need to be staying at the resort in order to attend.  We'd like to get a tally of how many folks are interested and, at a point not too far into the future, we'll collect everyone's money for the tickets and make a reservation.  We usually are on the ground floor, up close to the stage.  Prices are $67.99 and includes all food and beverage and the show, of course. In order to reserve our table, we need to make a reservation by December, so if you want to join us for this joyous, raucous and fun-filled evening, please contact me and we'll start a list!
